I don't know just how many of you still remember the Nimzy Vibro Blaster, which appeared a couple of years ago and was touted by its manufacturers as being able to turn pretty much any surface it was placed on into a speaker. Well, those of you who do will certainly recognize some familiar features in the new K-box, provided by Kerchoonz, which delivers pretty much the same level of functionality, albeit in a different form factor.

Hence, while the Nimzy was in fact quite tubular, the K-box looks just like a small box, with no particular distinctive elements to provide any clues regarding its main features. However, after switching it on, connecting it to an audio signal source and placing it on some surface, you'll see just what this little baby can do.

So, the main selling point of the K-box is the fact that it can literally turn any flat, solid surface into a speaker, featuring a very good bass response. And if you're wondering just why the bass is so good, the answer is quite simple: the K-box uses high-intensity vibrations in order to generate sound, or, as the vendor puts it, patented 'gel-audio' technology.

As mentioned above, this thing is quite compact, measuring around 115x55x20mm, which means that you probably won't have any problems carrying it around in your backpack or even in your pocket. Furthermore, it offers a full-bass response (40-20KHz) and the built-in battery (rechargeable via USB) offers an estimated functioning time of around 20 hours.

Price-wise, the K-box ain't exactly the cheapest thing out there, given the fact that it sells for around 40 pounds sterling (65 US dollars), but is more affordable than its rival mentioned above, which is indeed a good thing, since the Nimzy has been around for a lot longer.
