Since the security of one's personal data is so important nowadays (plus the fact that most other important storage solutions' manufacturers are also rolling out such products), Kingston has decided to add a super-secure offering to its SSD lineup and released the SSDNow V+ 100E drive with full-disk 128-bit AES hardware-based encryption, that delivers not only large data storage capabilities and access speeds, but also more peace of mind.

The new secure offerings from Kingston use MLC NAND Flash memory components, while also supporting TRIM, a feature that enhances device wear leveling by eliminating merge operation for all deleted data blocks.

The SSDNow V+ 100E drive also provides plenty of storage space, since it's available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB versions, while the transfer speeds are also quite impressive, since we're talking about 230MB/sec. Sequential Read Throughput and around 180MB/sec. Sequential Write Throughput.

The storage unit also sports 128MB of on-board cache memory, while connectivity options are restricted to the usual SATA 1.5Gb/s and 3.0Gb/s.

As mentioned above, the new SSD from Kingston delivers a very good level of security, since, in addition to its AES hardware-based encryption, SSDNow V+ 100E supports ATA Normal Secure Erase,
to completely destroy selected data and ensure that data blocks are wiped clean.

Plus, it also supports ATA Enhanced Secure Erase, which destroys the key used for encryption, and utilizes ATA Security Commands with BIOS-initiated password authentication.

No info on the pricing just yet, but we'll get back to you with that as soon as we find out more ourselves.
