The SSD market has been very active in the last few months, with new players entering it and new technologies enabling a wider choice for the consumers. While this is still a segment for the computer enthusiasts and high-end users, the SSD is slowly making its presence felt in the world of personal storage. On that note, Kingston continues to push its SSDNow family of solid state drives with the addition of new solutions, targeted at different user segments. Such is the case with the SSDNow V-series 128GB Notebook Bundle.

The V-series has been targeted at the entry-level consumers, for those that are looking to try out an SSD and see how this product can change the overall performance of their computer systems. The model that we will be showcasing here, today, is part of a special Kingston bundle that targets the increasing number of notebook PC users. As we have seen in a recent interview with Kingston's Adrien Viaud, the Fountain Valley, California-based company, offering its SSDs as part of specifically targeted bundles, is a strategy that the company uses to draw more people to the SSD segment.



The V-Series includes a number of interesting solutions, especially the 40GB model that was recently launched by the company and that we tested a while back. Launched back earlier this year, the SSDNow V series is the company's debut in the SSD world without help from Intel. We were provided with the chance to test out a larger capacity model, the 128GB, to be more specific, which was made available as part of a bundle targeting notebook users.

Although not as fast as the V+ Series, launched back in mid-August, the SSD V-series offers a number of advantages to those looking to enter the SSD world through a solution that is a bit more affordable, compared with similar offerings from the competition.
