I really don't know whether you would be interested in other solar chargers after seeing only yesterday the one from Chinavasion with
29 different adapters, but since this Kiwi U-Powered is quite similar, it might work for some of you out there. The solution right here is a lot more portable though, and more elegant, I might add, while also providing 11 different tips you can use to charge a multitude of devices. And there's probably no need for me to tell you this, but the Kiwi U-Powered is not a Chinavasion product (although it is most likely manufactured in China also)
Some of you might like the way it unfolds when connecting different gadgets to it and some of you might find the magnet on its back practical, since it allows the Kiwi U-Powered to be placed on any metallic surface. The design is allright and the manufacturers have added a LED flashlight as a bonus
practical feature. Since it is a solar powered charger, the magnetic back lets you stick it on the car, for example, so that it charges its 2000 mAh battery. This charger's battery is quite small, but it guarantees a lifetime of over 1,000 charges.
Each of the three
solar panels on the Kiwi U-Powered are the same Photo Voltaic ones you'll find on all solar chargers and the device does come with the option to be charged from both AC and DC power sources, plus an USB port on the side. Unlike the Chinavasion High Capacity Solar Charger, the one from KIWI Choice lacks the connectors for laptops/netbooks, but it does have most of the other proprietary adapters for gadgets built by major brands. You can see in the picture here, that the Kiwi U-Powered has a removable tip for Sony Ericsson phones, Nokia handsets, PSP, Nintendo DS and other popular gimmicks.
Kiwi U-Powered comes with a MSRP of $49.99 and it will be available through various retailers.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed.
