We have to admit that robots are becoming an increasingly important part of our daily lives, taking care of some of those menial tasks we're not quite keen on accomplishing ourselves (such as cleaning the house, cutting the lawn, searching and disarming bombs, helping the elderly... and the list goes on). And one of the most commonly encountered type of robots (at least for the time being) is the cleaner robot, the best known representative of the genre being the Roomba.

However, after this circular, flat-looking device proved a lot more popular than many people expected it to, the competition rose its more or less ugly head, some of the biggest names in the home cleaning products' segment (most of which, incidentally, come from Korea) starting to launch such products of their own. And that's exactly the case with LG, which has recently unveiled the Roboking Dual Eye robot that promises to clean even better the house where it's put to work due to the fact that it sports not one, but two cameras.

In fact, the cameras are apparently just two of the 11 (yep, eleven) sensors installed on the device, but this abundance of sensory inputs is actually what makes the gadget so efficient, LG's reps touting it as being able to provide a level of efficiency 30 percent higher than other competitors available out there.

It's also important to mention that the Roboking is, according to LG, a very quiet machine, its overall functioning noise being rated at a very low 50 db value. Moreover, similar to other devices out there, it will automatically trace its steps back to the recharging station, at the same time being a relatively discrete presence within one's house, since it has just a 130-mm diameter and a 90-mm height.

No pricing or availability details have been provided yet, but we're waiting to see this thing go to work live.
