It looks like projection solutions' fans are really having a field day at CEDIA 2010, with a relatively large number of companies unveiling some of their latest developments in this field, including here LG Electronics, who's showcasing its CF3D Full HD 3D single lens type projector, targeting custom installers and their clients.
The projection solution from LG is a Full HD Dual Engine Single Lens Type 3D Projector featuring a brightness ratio of 2,500 ANSI-lumens for 2D viewing and 1,250 ANSI-lumens for 3D content.
The projector also features a high contrast ratio of 7,000:1 and features TruMotion 120Hz for smoother images.
Mounted about 10 feet from the screen, the CF3D
projects an image of 100-inches diagonal.
The CF3D, which was initially introduced back at CES 2010, has two engines built into one unit, thereby reducing the space and size required to provide 3D content from one projector.
Thanks to the LCOS system, this projector's two images are polarized within the unit and projected simultaneously ensuring maximum brightness.
The CF3D projector addresses ghosting with improved and more rapid polarization, so the image is converted into a single 3D image before its transmitted.
"As home theater enthusiasts embrace 3D, LG's CF3D projector gives custom installers and integrators a flexible platform for delivering stunning 2D and 3D HD content," said Rick Calacci, vice president, regional sales,
LG Electronics USA, adding that "with theater-like performance for either home installation or business use, this projector is a treat for audiences from boardrooms to block parties."
LG's CF3D is available now with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $14,999.99, but at least the manufacturers do offer six pairs of polarized glasses included in this sum.
