You know, when LG announced taking the mobile market by surprise, I did not think it had it in it. However, it seems it does seeing how, lately, I have laid my eyes a lot on LG’s activity in the mobile devices department, especially in what concerns the
Chocolate line of mobile phones. Speaking of the Chocolate series, LG has announced two new phones for selected countries, namely the LG GW620 and LG Chocolate, the famous and very good-looking BL40.
Kevin Hell, Chief Executive Officer, DivX, Inc., had a few things to say regarding the LG GW620, which is LG's first DivX Certified Android OS using smartphone, “LG products populate the DivX ecosystem. […] We're pleased to deliver DivX capabilities to LG's first Android phone and
the new LG Chocolate, extending a partnership that provides consumers with the freedom to watch high-quality video on any DivX Certified device, whenever and wherever they want.”
As far as LG is concerned, it still hasn't managed to take Sony's place and remained the number three largest cell phone company in the world, with devices such as the GW620, LG Chocolate, LG Viewty and LG Secret being part of its DivX ecosystem that includes more than 200 million DivX devices being shipped worldwide. While the BL40, you definitely know by now, the LG-GW620 is a QWERTY keypad slider with a 3-inch full touchscreen phone such as the Nokia N97, for example.
I will leave you now with none other than Dr. Woo-Young Kwak, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company's Mobile Handset R&D Center, who declared a few interesting things (underlining the “few” part), “LG continues to roll out feature-rich phones and smartphones loaded with cutting-edge technologies. […] LG mobile phones include support for DivX and enable customers to enjoy cinematic viewing on the go.”
