Samsung Mobile is going strong this year in Las Vegas at CTIA Wireless 2010 with some new LTE equipment developed together with MetroPCS and an LTE-enabled, 4G handset, which they showed off at last year's CTIA Wireless, the SCH-r900. Both LTE solutions could be available as early as summer this year. MetroPCS will be the company using the fresh network products in the Las Vegas metropolitan area at first, but plans to expand this solution to other cities.
The Samsung Mobile
LTE networking solution features an open architecture infrastructure, which will make it very easy to deploy and use by various companies. With support for multi-vendor inter-operation through the LSTI (LTE Strategic Test Initiative), the high speed 4G networks built on their infrastructure will be able to provide various energy saving modes and compatibility with high efficiency multimode amplifiers.
These new products related to LTE networks were built by Samsung according to today's standards, which means that future users will be able to take advantage of all the benefits that these high-speed internet connecting solutions provide. Those of you that are looking for some quality entertainment on the move will probably appreciate the video on demand (VOD) support of the Samsung Mobile LTE products, or the
high speed music downloads.
According to
Samsung Hub, the new multi-mode, CDMA. LTE-enabled SCH-r900 handset will launch in the second half of the year as well, via MetroPCS. The picture of the Omnia-looking phone was taken last year at CTIA Wireless 2009.
LTE-enabled handsets are only beginning to make an appearance,
more models coming next year, enabling mobile phones to become even more powerful communication/entertainment portable gadgets. And with 4G internet access enabled on a multimedia smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S, for example, is there any need for a PMP-type of device?
