Well, it would really seem that AMD's not that good at keeping secrets, because more spy photos of their upcoming “Southern Islands” GPUs have started to make it online, the latest being the Radeon HD 6850 model.
As
TCMagazine informs us, the respective photo appeared online over the weekend on Chinese website
pconline.com.cn (honestly now, were you expecting it to be leaked anywhere else, given the fact that the previous leaks also popped-up on .cn sites ?), and was accompanied by a couple of bits and pieces of tech information.
So, it would seem that the future Radeon HD 6850 will require two slots on one's mobo and will pack DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs (much like the
HD 6870 we've talked about on Friday).
Additional rumors seem to claim that this GPU will come packed with 800 Stream Processors, a GPU clock of 775 MHz, a 256-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM set to 4000 MHz.
As mentioned before, this is only the latest in a long series of leaks, since, beside the 6870 mentioned above, tech data of the
HD 6770 and HD 6750 models also made their way online.
And since we're approaching the middle of October (and we know that the new line of AMD graphics solutions is set to debut this month), we'll actually starting to be quite anxious to see AMD finally go official with its GPUs and who knows, maybe even get to test some of them.
