LeapFrog is a leading designer, developer and marketer of innovative, technology-based educational products and related proprietary content. LeapFrog is 100% focused on developing products that will provide the most engaging, effective learning experience - for all ages, in school or home, around the world. If the company announced its TAG Learning toy only a few days ago, it seems that it didn't have any time to waste and it also launched the “Baby Blackberry” for tech-savvy kids.

For parents who are tired of having their toddlers getting their grubby little hands on their Blackberry and other smartphones while they're not looking, this is indeed great news. Despite the fact that it's been immediately dubbed “Baby Blackberry,” the device is actually called Text&Learn. The gadget, which is a bit bigger than your average Blackberry, is geared toward preschoolers who are just learning to spell and includes games that focus on spelling and basic computer skills.

It features a full QWERTY keyboard, large LCD screen and the ability to send theoretical text messages to LeapFrog's cute puppy character, Scout, won't get past the fact that you can't connect to the Internet to check your twitter feed. Kids can explore in a "pretend" browser mode though, even if that doesn't help in any way. Other learning activities include letter matching, shape identification, and, of course, the QWERTY keyboard navigation.

In spite of the fact that it has been announced in the UK only, at this week's Toy Fair and it isn't supposed to be presented in the US until next week, it seems that this cute little device will be available starting with this year's summer, retailing for the highly affordable sum of 25 US dollars. If you have a kid who is so fascinated about gadgets that they won't leave yours alone, then this is the perfect solution for you.
