You know, with flash drives being so common nowadays, it is pretty important to know what exactly you are going to get. And by that I'm not necessarily referring to storage space or speeds but to something of much greater importance: security. Since there are a lot of interesting offers on the market nowadays, let me introduce you to yet another. Coming straight from Lexar Media, here’s the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS and JumpDrive SAFE S3000 USB flash drives.

These new USB flash drives are especially designed for people who need secure devices and by that I am referring to persons working in the Military, Government and Enterprise organizations. It has a composite metal casing, as well as epoxy-sealed internal components. With the help of Advanced Encryption Standard 256-bit hardware encryption, user data will automatically be protected as soon as it is copied onto the USB flash drive.

“The JumpDrive SAFE S3000 line of secure USB flash drives safeguard information with unsurpassed data protection technology and enterprise-class features that can be easily integrated into any business environment,” explained Jyh Chau, senior product marketing manager, Lexar Media. “The receipt of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation is further proof that the advanced data security capabilities, coupled with the smart card technology, make the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 line among the most secure USB flash drives available today.”

The JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS will be made available in capacities ranging from 2GB to 4 and 8GB. As for the JumpDrive SAFE S3000, well that one will be found in sizes 2, 4, 8 and 16. Don't worry about compatibility issues since they work well with both Windows and Mac OS X, and will be reaching European markets in 2010.
