Wires are bothering to most of us. That is mainly because the “wireless” concept came around and we like that, as much as we like green products. It's nice to be able to go camping without worrying anymore about battery lifespan. Thinking of happy campers, Life Gear released the Wind Up Radio. Further in the direction of outdoor usage this little radio is splash proof, so now you can stop worrying if it starts raining when you're out of the camp site and you've left the radio out of the tent.

Including a torch and an emergency siren, this is a handy gadget to have while being outdoors, whether you're only in the garden or out in the mountains. The LED torch comes in handy when scouting the camp site surroundings. It's very light so you'll never be too tired to carry music with you. The power to the internal battery is supplied by wires connected to the winder.

The hand crank is comfortably placed on the back and swivels into place. A short 1-minute's cranking will let you listen to the radio for an impressive time of 1 hour. Being built this way, it is also environmental friendly. Although a lot of stuff was implemented, Life Gear did not give up on sound quality. Sporting a strong aerial, it provides a good sound quality with speakers that are loud enough for a large camp site.

A wrist wrap is also included in the package for safe carrying, although I'm pretty sure it will take a drop without scratching considering how solid it is. The usual and always used headphone jack was not forgotten, so you can enjoy the radio even at night without disturbing your tent mates. The design is just cool and as stylish as one might desire. Considering what this is, I find the optional AC power adapter very paradoxical. Only available in White/Orange combination, you can find it online for the small price of 32.92 US dollars.
