Apparently, embedding an iPod/iPhone docking station into pretty much any product has become somewhat of a hobby for the most important PC accessory manufacturers out there, since more and more of them are turning to this solution in order to better promote their various gadgets (by capitalizing a bit on the huge levels of success recorded by the aforementioned Apple icons). And that's also the case with LifeWorks, which will be releasing a new line of such products (after signing a licensing agreement with iHome) in the near future, the most interesting model of the whole lineup being the IH-K230MB iConnect Media Keyboard.
As the manufacturer informs us, the iConnect keyboard allows users to easily dock their iPod or iPhone in the keyboard and transfer music, photos, videos, applications and more with iTunes. The built-in dock has a cover that slides flat on the keyboard when it's not in use to maintain the keyboard's overall stylish design.
Furthermore, the peripheral comes equipped with illuminated touch sensitive media keys, allowing users to easily shuffle their playlists and control their media with a glide of a finger. And in order to grant this thing an even higher level of versatility, the designers have also thrown two rotating USB 2.0 ports in the mix, which offer quick and easy access for connecting a host of additional products, such as digital cameras, printers, thumb drives, mice and more.
Besides offering so many functions, the iConnect keyboard also offers a fairly high level of comfort, since the rubberized wrist rest allows one to work or play without actually feeling strained in any way.
The iConnect media keyboard retails for around 150 US dollars, which is a more or less fair price point, if we are to take into account the extended level of versatility it provides, but it remains to be seen just how many people will rush in to purchase such a product.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
