Some of you may not realize it but there is a greater crisis that's making itself more and more evident as years go by, a crisis of the educational system. Perhaps the solution to this is more technological than human.

Lightspeed has just made the first step into solving this issue: The Total Classroom Audio Solution. Basically an infrared Media Connector, this product is designed for use in classrooms (obviously), making multimedia audio integration as easy as possible. It can be used in tandem with another no-installation device from Lightspeed: the REDCAT classroom audio system.

Peter Baccile, Technology Director at Hornell City Schools in New York, had an interesting way of expressing his delight, “Set up in the classroom was easy. It took only minutes to connect the PC, VCR and DVD. It was simple to operate and the REDCAT audio quality is a 10! [...] Lightspeed has made a product that reduces all of the wires, increases flexibility in the classrooms, and makes it much easier for the teachers to run all of their multi-media equipment. From the technical side, the REDCAT audio system and Media Connector is very simple to set-up, support and maintain.”

The new Infrared Media Connector allows for teachers to just plug in their audio device (iPod, PC and so on) after which the signal is fed to the classroom audio system wirelessly. No wires, no hassle, no problem.

Peter Baccile continued with praising Lightspeed, “More media integration means more students are impacted [...]This results in an increased level of student performance. I commend Lightspeed for their vision and philosophies on bringing new life to the K-12 classroom environment and for developing products with the future in mind.”

All we need now is for someone to invent a better teaching system. We have the audio part, right?
