I've seen some pretty interesting things from
Logitech lately and I have to admit it is really sending vibes that are good enough to send input / output information to a few Logitech devices... with the help of a tiny USB receiver, that is. The Logitech Unifying receiver tries to connect as many devices as it can while remaining small enough to be kept in the laptop's USB port even when you’re moving around.
“At Logitech, we’re always looking for ways to make life easier,” said Rory Dooley, Logitech’s senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. “With this unique new receiver, now you can pick and choose the mouse and keyboard that work best for you whether you’re at the office, at home or on the road.” The Unifying receiver made its debut and brought a few friends along to play.
First in line is the K350, a keyboard that features Logitech's Wave design and Constant Curve layout. The keyboard offers up to three years of battery life. Next is the K340, a keyboard that's designed to be compact and easy to store. The keys are said to be quiet and responsive and the battery will last for three years.
The
Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 is one of the two such peripherals that the receiver can react to and features hyper-fast scrolling laser tracking and a right-hand shape that conforms to your hand very naturally. And if you're left-handed... well, that's not Logitech's fault, now, is it? Last but not least, the M505 features and ambidextrous shape (see, left-handed people were not forgotten), as well as an ergonomic design.
The keyboards are expected to be available in September, with the prices being set at 59.99USD and 49.99 USD for the K350 and K340, respectively. As for the mice, the Marathon will be available in Europe starting with this month and in the US starting with 2010. The Marathon Mouse 705 will be priced at 69.99 USD. The M505 is expected to start shipping this month at an MSRP of 49.99 USD.
