Some of us have gotten used to the idea that we will never own a Ferrari, but some people out there are still craving for one right now, like we did when we were 10 years old. Well, in order for those people to add one more craving on their list, here is another type of Ferrari that they will never own, the “Ferrari of
electric bikes,” produced in Hungary.
Let me tell you right from the start there will be only 250 pieces of the M55 bBke EVO-001 produced, which means, of course, that their price will be a little over your budget. As soon as you Ferrari dreamers stop crying, I will comfort you a little with the news that at least you will be able to see one such bike from close range, at the Eurobike 2010 show.
The exaggerated title was given by the Hungarians producing it because this is one of the first luxury electrical bikes ever produced. The first production bikes will be ready sometime next month,
Diseno-art says, and there will be no 251 bikes produced. The M55 Bike EVO-001 will be ready after a three-year and five-
prototype development stage, with a one-piece molded aluminum frame, integrated battery pack and a central motor, which will not affect bikers' stability because of its positioning.
The street-legal model will have a 250 W motor capable of delivering 0.33 HP and the off-road sport version of this electric bike will have a 1300 W motor with 1.7 horse power. The way you can achieve the maximum speed of 70 Km/h (43 Mph) that the “Ferrari of electrical bikes” promises is by pedaling as fast as you can. Hamster-like biking experience or not, this is actually the way this bike works. The faster you pedal, the harder
the motor works and if you pedal slowly, its motor will slow down as well.
Don't worry about stopping at 43 miles per hour speeds, as the bike uses Brembo disc brakes made in the same production plant where those used in F1 and Moto GP are being developed.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
