Modern day gamers don't really seem to like desktop computers all that much if we were to judge by the number of gaming laptops that see the light of day, the MSI 15.6-inch GT663 being the latest such offering to hit the scene, packing a Nvidia built GeForce GTX 460M graphics card.

Since this thing provides more then enough graphics power to support high resolution gaming with ease, I am happy to report that MSI decided to go with a Full HD display panel in this laptop, so I don't have to complain about that 1366x768 HD-ready resolution that present-day manufacturers seem to think is right for a 15 inch laptop.

However, going with such a high resolution display meant that MSI had to give up 3D gaming in the GT663, but, then again, this doesn't seem like such a loss.

Other then the 1.5GB of GDDR5 display memory packing GTX 460M, users that go for the GT663 will also get a Core i7 quad core processor with Intel Turbo Boost technology, up to 12GB of DDR3 memory and 1TB of storage space as well as two high speed USB 3.0 ports and MSI's own Turbo Drive Engine+ technology that overclocks the processor and increases the display's brightness just by pressing a key.

MSI also says their GT663 will deliver “superb sound” as they have worked together with Dynaudio to develop the 5.1 channel audio system used in this laptop that also features DTS' Surround Sensation UltraPC technology.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet, nor availability, but this would certainly get my vote if I was searching for a 15.6 inch gaming laptop, assuming that built quality is up to par.
