A few days ago, I mentioned being a bit saddened by big players such as MSI not announcing anything new for some time. Well,
MSI has recently announced its latest additions to the C-Series notebook line. And by that I mean five new notebook computers with pretty interesting specs and prices that make taking a closer look at them worth our time.
The fresh
600 models are 16 inches in size, weigh about 5.4 pounds and 1.8 inches thick, while the 700 models weigh a bit over 6 pounds and feature a size of 17.3 inches. As for the design, don't expect anything breath taking but not cheesy either, especially since they use MSI's Color Film Print Technology, which makes the notebook's case interact with the ambient light and basically changing the way its surface looks.
The 600 Series models feature a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768, while the 700 Series models offer a maximum resolution of 1600 x 900. Both have a 16:9 aspect ratio. Now, a quick glance at the specs. The CX 600 and CX 700 feature a T4200 Dual Core Pentium processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card and 4GB of DDR2 memory. The CR600-013, CR600-017 and CR700 are powered by a Pentium Dual Core T4200, 4GB DDR2 maximum memory and GeForce 8200M is handling the graphics department. Unlike the first two, these also feature an HDMI port.
As for the common options that these babies feature, the most important to mention are Ethernet connectivity, Wi-Fi, a six-cell battery and a 1.3-megapixel integrated webcam. Three USB ports and a four-in-one multicard reader complete the list of specifications. Pricing starts at 549.99 USD.
