MSI is widely known as being a great graphics card manufacturer and one of the top professional motherboard manufacturers in the world. Lately, it has also made itself known in the laptop market. What it is less renowned for is the sound department. Up until now, that is. Since MSI has recently launched its new Syren series of audio products.

The Syren series seems to be gamer-oriented, with high quality, high fidelity and high comfort being MSI’s main goals. And since there are three of them in the series (which I guess you would need to purchase in order for you to enjoy maximum sound), let's review all three of them, shall we?

First in line is the SyrenSound X-Fi, a PCI-e sound card that uses the CA0110 Creative Audio Processor and that supports X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity Audio technology, which basically tries to provide you with the best and most realistic sound it can. It’s also EAX Advanced HD 4.0 compatible.

Next, we have the SyrenPhone Gaming USB digital gaming Headphones, with a gold-plated USB interface that virtually eliminates on-board audio noise and has a unidirectional microphone that is said to offer great noise reduction. The now classic In-Line volume control function is also present. Soft ear pads and adjustable head band make sure the gamer will feel as comfortable as possible while stalking his/her prey in the darkest shadow.

Last but not least, we have the SyrenSpeaker mini, a mini USB speaker with an interesting design, meant to offer better sound quality than standard speakers and also a “green” alternative to the speakers that you may currently have. Their shape and size make them interesting enough to make you consider purchasing them. Although they have already been made available, I don't have any pricing for you yet.
