MSI has just introduced today one of its latest X-Slim series laptop computers, namely the X-Slim X420. This comes packing an Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core processor, along with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5430 3D external graphics card.
This ultra-thin and lightweight laptop features the Intel CULV ultra-portable and energy-efficient platform. The company's Director of Marketing, Sam Chem, felt the need to point out that this X-420 X-Slim laptop
carries along the X-Slim Series tradition of thin and elegant design, weighing but a mere 1.88 kilograms and no more than one inch thick.
Decorated with lots of new fashion elements, the exterior of the laptop will fit with just about anyone's lifestyle or style, as well as smoothly blend in a wide array of environments. Speaking of the exterior, MSI's exclusive textured pattern color film print was used, with the cover treated with translucent Cappuccino Brown color, while the palm rest area is coated with golden film.
Reading on the official web page, I can't help but wonder whether I'm writing about a fashion accessory, or a laptop, especially with the mentioning of the entire unit, inside out, being imbued with a bright and smooth pear texture that is supposed to redefine the standard for notebook fashion. Ok, stop, that's it with the design, about enough I'd say, so let us get down to the technical specs.
This
ships with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed, operates over an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, on a GS45+ICH9M-SFF chipset that supports two banks of DDR3 1066Mhz random access memory, but with no mentioning of a maximum value. Standard with a four-cell battery, but there's also an optional eight-cell one. Connectivity includes HDMI, D-sub, two USB 2.0, eSATA (USB Combo), Mic in and headphone out. No pricing available yet for the MSI X-Slim X420.
