The EX460 is cute looking as well!

Taking a quick 90-degree turn from the world of Apple jailbreaking history, we find ourselves in the wonderful world of MSI Notebooks. What has our Willy Wonka of notebook manufacturing prepared for us now, you wonder? Well... the EX460, a device it claims will be a “One Stop Shop for Work and Play.” Does that mean we'll be buying our cucumbers and bananas from MSI? No. Does it mean it is offering a device meant to satisfy our every mobile computing whim? Well, it remains to be seen.

The EX460 has a 14-inch LED backlit display and is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It weighs just around 2kg with a 6-cell battery and sports a memory of up to 4GB DDR 2. As for video, we find the almighty ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 with 512 DDR2 VRAM , a device aimed at offering perfect HD graphics on the 16:9 aspect ratio display which I wrote about in the beginning of this paragraph.

You get LAN connectivity, optional Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 4-in-1 card reading support, three USB 2.0 ports, up to 500 GB of SATA Hard Disc data storage awesomeness and the choice of a six-cell battery or a nine-cell one for extra juice. And we all need some extra juice to get us going from time to time now, don't we? You'll soon be surfing the web at high speeds and low long-term cost since the gadget also uses the famous MSI ECO technology. You know, the one that let's you choose your ECO mode of choice by the press of a button!

Speaking about the press of a button... do you feel that typing gets stressful after a while? I know, my friends, I do too, especially since I do it for... well... more than eight hours a day. The EX460 claims to have a unique keyboard with a curved surface, ergonomic membrane and even keys that are 51 percent larger and have been proven to relieve the “excessive load” on your fingers.

In conclusion, is the EX460 really a “one stop shop for work and play?” To me, not so much. What it does offer is a good mobile choice should you need to keep on working or playing a light game on your road home back to your desktop computer. Pricing and availability? No idea whatsoever.
