“When you have absolutely nothing interesting and new to share to the world but want to make yourself noticed, confirm your latest products... again.” That seems to be the motto that MSI used when it decided to release a press statement confirming what we already knew: the slim X600 and X400 Ultrathin notebooks.
I'm pretty sure that you know anything there is to know about the X-Slim series, since I've covered it in more than three articles. But just in case you haven’t stumbled on my articles, I am more than happy to go over it again. I mean MSI did it... why couldn't I, right?
The X400 is a somewhat intermediary version of the X-Slim notebooks, with a 14-inch display and powered by CULV technology. As for the X600, it has a 15-inch display and pretty much the same capabilities. As for the technical specifications, there's not much of a difference among the X600 X400 and X340 for the matter. CULV platform, HDMI port, I/O port, Blu-ray support and so on.
Mr. Joseph Hsu, Chief Executive Officer of MSI, succeeded in releasing an excited statement regarding the all-too-familiar X-Slim series, “I believe MSI’s latest X-Slim Series is a complete line of products designed to set new industry standards and the introduction of the X-Slim Series will further strengthen our position in the notebook market and help us reach a new development milestone.”
Other common factors are the slim shape, the cool design and the light build of these great looking laptops, with the X400 weighing just 1.5kg, while the X-Slim X600 weighs a little over 2kg (2.1kg, to be more precise). One notable thing about the X600 is that it also comes with “a discrete graphic card to maximize visual performance.” Although what “discrete” means, I haven't got the slightest of clues.
