The GX403 notebook in all its splendor

When choosing a notebook, I am looking for one that best suits my character. A notebook that is fast enough for rather demanding computations (as in playing latest generation games) but also portable enough in order to allow me to carry it around (since portability is the main reason one would buy such a machine).

The GX403 from MSI is that and a lot more. And since I know a lot of users are looking for devices similar to what I want, I'll be talking a bit about what this next notebook from MSI has to offer. Well, sporting a 14.1-inch 1280 x 800 WXGA LCD display screen, the GX403 is powered by an Intel Centrino 2 Processor, has an nVIDIA Geforce GT 130M 256MB DDR3 graphics adapter, and sports a maximum of 4GB DDR2 memory.

It has 802.11 b/g/n wireless connectivity as well as optional Bluetooth 2.0, 4-in-1 card reader, is HDMI capable and also has two USB connectors and 1.3MP webcam for chatting with your friends and family. If you're planning to use it for media playback, you'll be happy to know that its storage capabilities range from 160GB to 500 GB (SATA HDD). Its 6 or 9 Cells battery offers pretty long runtime for you to enjoy watching Blu-ray movies thanks to the GX403s Blu-ray Optical Drive.

And if you want to squeeze a little more juice out of your device, the brand new ECO Engine behind it allows you to overclock your overall speed with just the press of a button situated above the keyboard. As you probably know (since MSI has been using the engine for a while now), the ECO Engine allows you to switch among five different modes: Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo Battery.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
