Matrox Graphics Incorporated, definitely the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, has just announced multiple DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go Graphics eXpansion Module support for driving up to four or six monitors, respectively while taking signal from a single system. Now, users can connect a second GXM
to the secondary output of a supported dual monitor graphics card, so two DualHead2Go GSMs can serve for up to four outputs in 2 x 2 or 4 x 1 configurations, all while the TripleHead2Go modules can be combined in connecting six displays in 3 x 2 or 6 x 1 settings.
"Multi-GXM support offers a tremendous amount of flexibility by simply having to connect the GXMs externally to your system or workstation," says Ron Berty, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics. "Business professionals, for example, can now conveniently upgrade to a four- or six-monitor workspace to run additional applications for real-time viewing. Additionally, AV specialists can effortlessly build six-screen presentations or digital signage platforms to drive dynamic, digital messaging while benefiting from the natural synchronization of the screens being driven by a single GPU."
The company, Matrox, that is, is currently offering multi-GXM support with the 2.06, or above, GXM software suite, that allows a maximum of two GXMs to be
connected to a supported graphics card that sports two available outputs of the needed type, mentioning that the Graphics eXpansion Modules have to be exactly of the same model. While independent desktop support is available with supported ATI, NVIDIA and the company's M-Series graphics cards, the Multi-GXM stretched desktop model is only available with the Matrox M-Series cards.
Best part of these is that users would have impressive display architectures, without having to meet any hassle with connecting the monitors. Another thing that came to mind with these would be to actually spread monitors all around your house, for various stuff, especially if touchscreen is supported. Pricing, however, is yet to be announced.
