Let's say that you've just bought yourself one of the latest MacBook Pro models to arrive on the market. You're pretty proud of it, especially since you've paid quite a lot in order to get it (because, naturally, all that “cool” factor does come at a pretty hefty price point, doesn't it?), and you'd like to
show it off to pretty much everyone around. But are you sure that this is the wisest (and safest) thing to do?
If you imagine you're the only one who knows just how much your MacBook Pro is worth, you're wrong. Now, pretty much every thief or robber out there is quite aware of the fact that any device featuring that silvery apple logo is way more expensive than its other counterparts, and for this reason, it represents a prime target for a violent act. So, especially during this bleak economy, parading the aforementioned portable computing system made by Apple around is not exactly the best idea.
However, a design lab known as Mitemite is offering a very interesting solution for MacBook Pro owners out there, namely the “case for
MacBook Pro against crime,” which won't turn you into a superhero, but at least it will effectively conceal the fact that you're carrying around a very expensive notebook.
So, what we're dealing with here is a
handbag made out of plastic/fabric and featuring a zip/metal chain as a handle (which can apparently be removed, need be). The case measures 37.7 cm x 27.5 cm x 3.4 cm and looks just like a folded paper on the outside, which makes it so inconspicuous. Moreover, in order for it to be able to provide covert protection in various areas of the world, this case can be customized to look like one of the following papers: “Le Pais,” “La Vanguarda,” “La Gretezza Delo Sport,” “The Herold Tribune” and “Die Frankfurten Allgemeine” (which are all mock-ups, by the way).
As far as the pricing is concerned, things don't look that good, since this case sells for around 60 Euro, which is a bit too much, all things considered.
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
