Although it doesn't seem like that many people are interested in them, portable TVs have tried to come into the spotlight for quite some time how, Michley Tivax's MiTV-Mobile7 being the latest such offering to try its luck, promising to enable you to watch your favorite programming while on the move.
This is possible thanks to the ATSC-M/H
tuner that comes built in the MiTV-Mobile7, allowing users to watch TV programming while driving in their car, 40 major markets across USA transmitting mobile digital signals in this broadcasting standard.
ATSC-M/H was specially developed in order to allow mobile reception and it comes with a powerful error correction algorithm to compensate for poor signals while also allowing scalable resolution and frame rates, so this should indeed be well suited for the job, provided that you drive your car “at moderate speeds” as Tivax likes to point out.
Once you arrive at your destination, the TV can be switched to use the regular
ATSC TV mode, the MiTV-Mobile also coming with a USB and a SD card slot enabling users to play back MP3s, JPEG images as well as most AVI and DIVX file formats.
The seven inch MiTV-Mobile7
portable digital TV will be available in November, but, unfortunately, Tivax didn't provide us with any info regarding the price this will be launched at.
