A proper level of interaction between the teacher and the pupils/students is extremely important for the educational process, and in order to help out school staff achieve this goal in a faster, more seamless way, the Dymo company has just introduced the MimioClassroom series of products, designed to represent powerful tools on their own, but also work quite well together via the MimioStudio software.
The first product in this family we'll talk about is the MimioTeach, a device that will turn any ordinary whiteboard into an interactive one, allowing teachers to access all of the teaching materials stored on their computer from the whiteboard itself (with the help of a projector).
Next in line comes the MimioVote assessment system, that lets teachers gauge student understanding instantly, at any point during a lesson, with maximum class participation.
The device simplifies assessment, grading, and record-keeping, lets users lead an impromptu quiz, display and discuss the results with the class immediately, enjoy automatic scoring and record-keeping, as well as review, modify, or download final results into spreadsheets.
The MimioCapture device is also particularly interesting, since it will allow teachers to save the notes they've made with colored markers on an ordinary whiteboard, as well as create a complete, accurate copy of whiteboard notes and drawings in color, in the format of choice.
Another interesting component of the MimioClassroom series is the MimioView document camera, that allows the teacher to instantly capture pictures and live video, incorporating them into the lesson, on the spot (editing and storage features are also available).
Last, but certainly not least, the MimioPad wireless tablet allow an enhanced level of freedom, practically allowing each student to have equal, undifferentiated access to the lessons, no matter where they might be seated in the classroom.
All in all, the MimioClassroom line from Dymo is quite an interesting and exciting one, especially in our ultra-connected society, where interaction is such an important element.
