Nice artwork, huh?

Once upon a time, there was an artist. A tattoo artist, to be more exact. And that artist would do miracles for other artists such as Cypress Hill, Eminem and so on. But that tattoo artist decided to expand his territory and took on the mobile industry by adding his talent to a Samsung phone. And now, that tattooist has decided to embark on another journey. Pairing up with the artist (namely Mister Cartoon) is Casio G-Shock, seeking to bring a new vibe to its watches.

"I chose to collaborate with G-Shock because I have been wearing G-Shocks since I went to Japan in the early nineties. I have seen the evolution and the quality of the watch evolve into an iconic brand. It never goes out of style, I like that G-Shock is interested in connecting technology, culture and art," said Mister Cartoon.

The Mister Cartoon styled watch that will seek to merge art with technology will be codenamed DW6900MRC-8 and will possess a color palette of silver and navy blue. The DW6900MRC-8... what a bland name for something they want to be different, don't you think? I mean... doesn't the name ruin the whole idea behind the entire Mister Cartoon design? Anyway, the watch is water (up to 200 meters... that's quite a feat!) and shock resistant, offers a flash alert, multi-function alarm and the limited edition version will feature the Mister Cartoon logo in EL Backlight and an engraved black case.

“G-Shock is pleased to collaborate with such a recognized artist as Mister Cartoon,” said Shigenori Itoh, Vice President of Casio's Timepiece Division. “With the release of the DW6900MRC-8, we are offering a unique fusion of cutting-edge technology with an aesthetic appeal to street culture.” The DW6900MRC-8 is now available for 120USD. Samsung, Casio... what's next, Toyota?
