In some cases, adding a separate battery to a portable device, whether we're talking about a mobile phone or a portable multimedia player, will take away some of its mobility, making it a bit bulkier. For this reason, the Mophie company, who's specialized in exactly this type of accessories, has just announced the launch of a couple of fashion accessories for the people using its external batteries (known as juice packs).
As some of you will certainly remember, the
Mophie Juice Pack is a rechargeable lithium polymer battery in the form of a non-slip, soft grip case. The power pack attaches to the player in a very simple manner, as all the users have to do is slide in the player within the protective case and connect it to the power adapter.
Moreover, the juice pack seems to be pretty effective as well, since, by attaching this additional battery to the iPod touch, users will be able to enjoy an additional 42 hours of audio playback, as well as up to seven hours of video playback, which is in fact quite more than any average user might require.
Now, after going through this small recap, let's take a look at the new Hip Holster line (because that's the name of the series of accessories mentioned above). Practically, what we're talking about here is a couple of premium leather
cases designed to stash and protect every model of the juice pack for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and 3GS. Designed with high-quality leather, each Hip Holster is both extra durable and soft to the touch. The belt clip is designed to free up pocket space for other items and the quick draw feature allows easy access for one-handed removal.
“We’ve identified a great demand from our current customer base for a
carrying solution for the juice pack and iPhone that adds convenience and style” says Ross Howe, Sales and Product Development Director for Mophie. “The Hip Holsters give easy access to the iPhone and feature a classic premium leather look and feel making them the perfect complement to the juice pack.”
Pricing for the Mophie Hip Holsters is actually pretty good, each of these things retailing for somewhere in the vicinity of 30 US dollars.
