Getting tired of this ongoing Cyber-shot invasion? Well, since, after all, the Japanese company doesn't really have an endless bag of digital cameras (remember, it's an economic crisis out there, because otherwise it might have pumped out even more models than it actually did), what we'll talk about as follows are the last three models unleashed this time around, namely the Cyber-shot H20 and S980 and S930 models.
The Cyber-shot H20 is one of the most advanced new Cyber-shot models to arrive on the market. It sports a 10.1-megapixel sensor, accompanied by a Carl Zeiss 10x optical zoom lens, as well as an Optical SteadyShot stabilization system for clearer handheld shooting. Besides taking photos, this camera can also record 720p HD movie clips, and comes packed with Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technologies.
Next in line come the Cyber-shot S980 and S930 models. These value models sport 12.1 effective megapixels (10.1 megapixels, respectively, for the S930), accompanied by a 4x optical zoom lens (3x optical zoom in the case of the S930). Available in a choice of silver, black and pink color options, they’re packed with such features as Face Detection and SteadyShot image stabilization for clearer pictures in any situation.
Similarly to all of the other new Cyber-shots, these three models also include the Picture Motion Browser 4.0, the latest version of Sony’s image management application. By using this piece of software, users can simplify sorting, viewing and searching through photos and video clips stored on one's PC’s hard drive.
While pricing details are, quite obviously, unavailable, Sony did provide the dates at which these new Cyber-shots should arrive in stores. Hence, the first to be officially available will be the S980 (starting at the end of February), followed by the S90 in mid-April and the H20, which will only arrive towards the end of April, or early May 2009.
