New Energy Technologies has developed
a revolutionary system that will generate electricity in a very discrete way, simply by harnessing the kinetic energy made by moving vehicles. On large roads, the Motion Power system might prove very productive, providing energy day and night. The company has developed a commercial-scale prototype so far and the research behind the whole project is completed.
“The successful completion of our
brand new MotionPower™-Heavy system at its full commercial scale is a pivotal accomplishment for New Energy, which now enables us to launch field tests and optimize our technology for eventual commercial installation and deployment,” stated Mr. Meetesh V. Patel, President and CEO of New Energy Technologies, Inc.
The company is currently working on perfecting both their models of Motion Power energy harnessing system, the Motion Power Heavy and Motion Power Auto. While this seems like a good solution for creating energy out of thin air, simply by driving over one of these systems developed by New Energy Technologies, it does have some issues regarding applicability.
As it very much resembles a speed limiter, I am not sure all drivers will appreciate it. You can see for yourself how it works in the movie embedded
here, where the manufacturers clearly say that Motion Power slows vehicles down. But the manufacturers promise to adapt it to various scenarios.
“It’s very important that our products meet the needs of potential customers and varying site conditions. From the numerous commercial inquiries we’ve entertained, ranging from global service businesses to government agencies, we have learned that the market is demanding systems for generating sustainable
electricity, and expects our MotionPower™ technologies, currently under development, to be available in various configurations. In response to the requirements of our prospective customers, these systems are being developed for both discreet and disruptive applications,” concluded Mr. Patel.
