Workforces on the go need customized solutions capable of answering their very specific needs, Motorola trying to deliver such a device with the latest MC959B mobile computer that enables mobile workers to easily switch between wireless networks available thanks to the dual 3G modems included.
This would enable the user to switch to other network if there is no coverage or the connection speed doesn't meet its needs, while the use of both a GSM and CDMA modem makes this one universal device capable of working regardless of the networking standard available.
Built as a data-only device, meaning this lacks any type of voice calling features, the MC959B also uses a
rugged design that can withstand six foot drops to concrete and comes with IP67 sealing as well as more mundane features like an accelerometer that orientates the screen depending on how you hold the device.
"Motorola's flagship MC9500-K series raises the bar for premier
rugged mobile computing with its breakthrough design and unsurpassed feature set that support the most demanding field mobility applications.
The new and innovative MC959B, with its dual-WAN capabilities, demonstrates our continued efforts to provide our customers with the anywhere-anytime access to data applications that enterprise users need," said Girish Rishi, vice president and general manager of mobile computing,
Motorola Solutions.
No word on availability an pricing just yet, but this type of solutions are usually pretty expensive.
