Today seems to be a pretty important day for Motorola, since the company has also released, beside the DROID PRO Android smartphone we've talked about earlier, the CITRUS model, an entry-level device that combines the advantages provided by Google's mobile OS with some pretty interesting extras.
The new handset comes equipped with a 3-inch multi-touch display that delivers fluid flick, swipe and pinch-to-zoom navigation, as well as an easy-to-use, on-screen QWERTY keyboard (available in landscape and portrait modes) for quick messaging.
The full HTML Web browser comes preloaded with Bing Search and Bing Maps and delivers a PC-like Web browsing experience with quick access to Web apps and services such as Facebook, Google services such as Gmail, Google Talk and YouTube.
Furthermore, the device comes equipped with BACKTRACK, a touch panel located on the back of the device that enables users to navigate and scroll through websites, home screens, e-mails, music and more without obstructing the display.
Motorola also points out that CITRUS has a housing made from 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, is certified CarbonFree through an alliance with Carbonfund.org, and is PVC and BFR free.
Plus, the packaging is made from 80 percent post-consumer recycled paper, and the user manual is made using 100 percent recycled paper and soy-based ink.
No info in the pricing of the Motorola CITRUS Android smartphone has been provided just yet, but we will likely find out more on this topic in the coming weeks, when the device from Motorola will officially go on sale.
