Yes, folks! It's the Monkey USB Cam! Now, before I start describing this fascinatingly cute gadget to you eager monkey loving people out there, let us be clear on one point. This is not exactly ground-breaking USB camera technology we're dealing with here. The unique selling point of this product, if we were to dissect it marketing-wise, is the fact hat it looks like a monkey, a stuffed toy monkey, and that it's cute.

This is the kind of thing that is either received as a gift or usually bought to be offered as one. One day you realize that you could really use a USB cam, then you will probably initiate the standard gadget purchasing protocol, which always begins with a thorough web investigation – tracking the best prices, balancing them with the technical features of each interesting model and then comparing that with what your specific reasons for needing such a device, be they professional or personal.

Well, if you really want to know the technical details of this particular 500K-pixel Monkey USB Cam, here are some of the most telling: its capture resolution can go as high as 800x600; as for frame rates, this simian gadget can climb as high as 30 fps at 320x240, 20 fps at 640x480 and 15 fps at 800x600. It also has a 90mm sensor and adjustable lens so that you can clearly see people laughing at your monkey through them. The Monkey USB Cam may be primitive in certain aspects, but knows how to get along with Windows XP, 2000, ME and Vista, as any smart primate should.

It weighs 130g, has a diameter of 16cm and an approximate height of 18cm. So, it would make a nice present for that precociously gadget interested kid of your neighbors; and it would prevent him / her from pestering you with gadget-related questions. You decide whether the $25 price is worth it.
