NEC Display Solutions of America, as you already know, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the latest product addition to its comprehensive line-up of LCD monitors, namely a standard-aspect desktop display targeted at uses in the business environments such as IT, corporate and education - the 17 inch MultiSync LCD175M monitor.

This one features an EPEAT Gold rating, yet the Energy Star 5.0 and TCO 5.0 compliance were not skipped either, therefore certifying the eco-friendly status of this monitor. Packing ECO Mode technology, the LCD175M provides its users with the ability of maneuvering between two energy-savings modes, as well as enabling the calculation of power consumption savings for the monitor's carbon footprint meter. Even more to this, thanks to the new power circuit architecture, the monitor is able to reach a power consumption of 0.4w power in Power Savings Mode and Power Off.

“The new MultiSync LCD175M is an eco-conscious IT monitor that consumes up to 42-percent less power than its predecessors,” said Lynn Gu, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions. “This display will help any business operation to become green, as it uses the same likeable features of the MultiSync 5 Series but with a more energy-efficient approach.”

Technical specifications say the LCD175M boasts a 1000:1 contrast ratio, which is a value low enough to be the real native contrast. As this is a desktop display, meant for business environments, the response time is only at 5ms, so you might experience a slight lag if playing on one of these, but only if you have a very trained eye. Brightness is at an equivalent of 250 candles per square meter, while the resolution is the standard 1280 x 1024 pixels. Pricing for this is $179, with shipping due this month.
