The new Bernard Richards Manufacture TR1 timepiece is the first ever (in modern times) French made tourbillon movement watch. With obvious inspiration from the world of motor sports, BRM watches offer tasteful flashy designs, and a focus on mechanics. As soon as it is strapped to the wrist, the modular construction of the Tourbillon case and the weight of its shear engineering genius can be felt.

The BRM Tourbillon has been built to inspire. Its extraordinary design comes dressed in variety – the case is available in titanium or rose gold and its various parts come brushed or polished per the customer’s specifications. The Tourbillon features a modified crown at 2 for superior comfort (considering the 52mm case), a solid buckle made from 12 individual pieces assembled by hand.

The tourbillon cage itself is 18mm wide, set in a titanium cage. As it is large, it takes 105 seconds to rotate, but there is a separate hand for the seconds (most tourbillons rotate in 60 seconds). The two rotors seen through the skeletonized movement help wind the special mainspring that is also shielded from shock. The rotors themselves require no oil for lubrication as they are on ceramic bearings. The mechanical inventiveness of the TR1 does not end there, as there are numerous unique elements, and it has a completely unique and forward thinking movement.

Recognized by watchmakers as the most complex watch to engineer, it's clear that the TR1 timepiece is for serious watch lovers and mechanical enthusiasts only. Bernard Richards, the founder of BRM, wanted to create an unprecedented Tourbillon through innovative mechanic and aesthetic design elements and it's obvious he has managed to do so. This exquisite watch will be available starting this month, for about 109,000 Euros.
