Have you ever listened to an Internet radio station? It's usually better than regular advertising broadcasting companies. Most Internet radio stations only provide music with a few very short commercials every 7 or 8 songs. No annoying radio hosts, no stupid discussions about how some Hollywood star bought a new $500.000USD watch, which he/she will scratch in the next couple of weeks.
In order to provide for a smoother transition between the old radio trend and this new Internet radio concept, Tivoli has announced a new line of WiFi ready devices meant to provide the same easy radio experience, but with at a higher quality and with more music and less non-interesting-stuff. The NetWorks line of Internet radios can either use their WiFi capabilities or an Ethernet port for radio streaming.
The entire NetWorks line comes with hand-crafted wood enclosures, which holds the 3.5-inch speaker. Of course, they also provide stereo and subwoofer expansion by use of optional Tivoli add-ons.
As far as tech capabilities are concerned, the most innovative feature of the NetWorks line (compared with today's Internet radios) is the addition of an USB port, which can read MP3 and WMA files stored onto a thumbdrive. The audio-in jack comes to aid most portable audio players, since this is usually the only universal method of connecting any player to the same speaker.
The front LCD with blue backlight is designed to display any information regarding the current song, time and radio stations list. Users can store up to 200 radio stations (that's a lot compared to the 10 favorite stations your old radio receiver could store) and browse them any time if in need for a mood change. As a side feature there's also a dual alarm clock integrated for all those heavy sleepers.
The basic model comes with a $600 price tag, while FM models (WiFi + FM radio) will add another $50 to the equation. Their respective stereo solutions also add 100$ each, so if you're craving the top model you'll have to spend $750USD in order to please your high standards.
