You know, I have written about so many Asian devices lately that I have to admit I have grown quite fond of the Asian market and in some way am jealous of the fact that there are a lot of great-looking devices both in terms of specifications, as well as design that never make it across the seas into Europe or the US. Devices such as a large number of
multitouch tablets that are currently available for sale, but only in China or Japan.
Speaking of multitouch tablets, Shenzhen K.R.T. Technology has recently introduced the K.R.T. X9 touchscreen tablet, an impressive 10-inch multitouch tablet that sports an Intel Atom N270 processor, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and CDMA2000 3G, a/b/g WiFi and runs the
Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. The device offers a choice of two batteries, one with 2.800mAh and the other with 3.500mAh and a runtime of up to four hours.
Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, a hard drive that allows for the storing of 160GB of data, a VGA port, as well as three USB 2.0 ports. The tablet will be sold in China for about 4.000 yuan, which, put into dollars, means USD586. The 226.3 x 166.9 x 24.7 mm and 2kg measurements do make it sound a bit... bulky, but, with such a price, I am pretty sure it will find a lot of persons that are willing to overcome the issue.
In case you're expecting a European or US release, I am sorry to let you know that such a date does not exist and, if my experience has taught me anything, then that is not to expect it being released in these parts anytime soon... if ever.
