It seems these days every company really cares about about conserving the environment, since most of the major names in the industry are launching all sorts of RoHS-complying products, energy efficient devices and solar powered electronics. Actually, solar power is becoming quite a trend these days, solar panels being integrated even in backpacks and winter jackets. The idea of always having your electronic gadgets at their full potential is quite catchy and companies never miss an opportunity to make more money.
A company going by the name of Battech just released a new solar charger meant to store power and charge your gadgets whenever you are in need of electricity, but can't locate a wall socket. Although releasing such a device at the beginning of winter season isn't that wise of an idea, the company hopes that the device will really get the buyers' attention by offering a vast list of features and an impressive battery capacity – 2200mAh.
Compared to most solar chargers available on the market these days, the iPower SX sports at least 50% more capacity. Compared to the Solar Technology Freeloader, which can power a PSP for only 2 and a half hors, Battech's device should be able to juice it up for at least 5 hours.
Another advantage over most competitors is an integrated power energy indicator, so you know when to place the device near a window or even outside in order to get it charged. As most solar chargers, the iPower SX can't provide an universal morphing connector to fit every device possible, so it comes with a bunch of adapters. These include iPod and iPhone connectors, USB chargers, mini USB chargers, Nokia chargers and a few cameras and MP3 devices.
And if the sun is playing tricks on you, just plug the device into a computer's USB and let it charge (it will take a while). When it's done just go about your way.
