This palm-sized gadget right here seems perfect at the moment for those people whose portable devices constantly run out of juice. This is a problem very often encountered and you don't always have a gas station or store near you so that you can purchase more batteries, or quickly plug your devices with the store clerk's permission.
Renowned for designing innovative and powerful hydrogen-based energy solutions, the folks over at Horizon have really outdone themselves this time with the MiniPak.
You see, it is built with a passive
fuel cell and a hydrogen storage unit. The hydrogen cartridge has the lifetime of about 1,000 AA batteries and the MiniPak comes with two of them. Not only this, but Horizon has even made them refillable and are now offering the
HydroFILL solution separately, so that everybody can recharge these packs at home.
The portable MiniPak has a 2.5 W DC output (5V) through its micro-USB port and comes with a multi-choice cable as well. Thus, it will be compatible with all sorts of gadgets from smartphones to portable gaming consoles and PNDs.
Now, I think that everyone can see the MiniPak as a very useful solution around the house as well, even though it was designed with portability in mind. So, what more could you possibly need from a recharging device? Wait, I know, for it to be affordable too.
And Horizon's MiniPak is just that, as it retails for $99. So, while this company has been seen to produce hydrogen
fuel cell systems for very exclusive crowds, they are now offering a solution for the masses and a very good one above all else. It's small, very practical, safe and doesn't cost much. You can call me a fan.
