You know, I think I have found the perfect recipe so as to build the perfect and most successful iPod dock ever. You think about something that no one will ever want to be implemented as an iPod function... such as the ability to output media files (audio and video) to your home audio/video
system (what's the use of doing that if you already own an audio/video system?) and make it as bulkier as possible so that any thought of using it as a portable dock dies quite quickly.
And, last but not least, add a few cool features, combine them with a kitschy, uninteresting design and “Tadaa, presto and abracadabra,” you will get... the Wadia 170iTransport. Excuse me before iTransport myself into a better disposition, I haven't written about an iPod dock for so long that I forgot how to chant “Goosefraba” in order to get rid of mixed feelings of anxiety and anger.
The device sports a precision-engineered aluminum chassis and comes with an infrared remote control, coaxial digital cable, as well as docking inserts. Depending on how good your audio system is and what resolution the files on your
iPod have, that's how much of an “audiophile” experience you will or won't have. Which can go without saying as a trait of any if not all iPod docks out there.
But wait, there's more! The device also sports quite the compatibility list, being compatible with the iPod touch (both generations), iPod classic in its 80GB, 120GB and 160GB forms, the iPod with Video, iPod nano all from the first generation to the fourth. All in all, the dock is a pretty good device should you have some cash left and not know what to spend it on. But take my word for it: audiophiles don't stream iPod music via a dock. Actually, audiophiles don't “iPod” anything. Catch my drift?
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
