I guess repeating the fact that the number of products designed specifically to work either with the iPod and/or the iPhone 3G and 3GS has skyrocketed over the past couple of years (or months, in the case of the 3GS) is a bit redundant, so we'll just say that Japanese company Yamaha, a traditional manufacturer of audio equipment (and high-speed motorcycles), has recently released its PDX-30
speaker system, which works just fine and dandy with the aforementioned Apple handhelds.
Although, at a first sight, there's nothing special about the Yamaha PDX-30, one thing that might draw the potential customers' attention to this thing will be the several
color options available, which will match both one's home decor and personal tastes. Hence, we've got black (a classic), but also gray, pink and blue, for the more... adventurous of users.
As mentioned above, the PDX-30 has been designed to
dock the iPhone and iPod, which means that it can both charge their batteries and play the music stored within their memory. Playback can be controlled either from the device itself or with the help of the remote control included in the sales package.
As far as the audio is concerned, it's worth mentioning the fact that the Yamaha PDX-30 comes equipped with 2 x 8-cm, bass-reflex speakers, as well as a 15W x 2 amplifier, which it uses in order to deliver a clear, powerful sound in just about any conditions. The frequency zone ranges between 60Hz and 20kHz, while the overall dimensions and weight (350 x 109 x 125 mm. 1.7kg) make it fairly portable.
No pricing details have been provided for the time being, but we're likely to find out more on this issue in the near future, since this thing is set to arrive in stores on the Japanese market over the course of August.
