There are so many MP3 players available today that it's very difficult for manufacturers to come up with original products that are at the same time efficient, attractive an affordable. Well, it seems that Nextar has found a way to attract some more clients, by releasing the only 2 inch-long Peanut MP3 player. As you might have already guessed, the name comes from its peanut-like shape.
But the shape and reduced size of the MA588 MP3 player are not its only attractive features. Hence, the Peanut sports a 1GB or 2GB capacity, works on just one AAA battery and provides up to 12 hours of continuous playback. It supports MP3 and WMA audio formats, sports voice-recording capabilities, as well as a removable flash-memory drive.
The Peanut is very easy to use, as it features a folder navigation function, which makes managing and accessing files a “task” easy to accomplish. Also, you'll be able to personalize your listening experience by selecting one of the seven equalizer modes: normal, pop, rock, classic, jazz, bass and soft. And just so that everybody could understand how to do that, user support is offered in seven languages, including English, German, Italian and Spanish.
What's truly innovative about this MP3 player though is the SRS WOW sound effect technology which improves playback quality significantly, by creating an encompassing sound field with restored digital clarity and deep bass.
The MA588 Peanut also includes a high-speed USB 2.0 interface, auto power off, power-off timer, easy-to-understand graphic menus and comes with accessories like an earphone, USB cable, one AAA battery, a Win98 installation CD and an instructions manual.
Available in black, pink, red, blue and silver, the Peanut MP3 player retails for approximately 20 US dollars (for the 1GB version) and almost 30 US dollars (for the 2GB version).
