One of the features that Nokia users have always wanted to have on their Symbian smartphones is definitely Microsoft's Office suite. You know... Word, Excel, PowerPoint and so on. Well, care to take a wager as to what is soon to arrive on your smartphones courtesy of a new alliance between Microsoft and Nokia. Yep... they are bringing the Office to our mobile phones. Now, isn't that exciting? Keep on reading for more.

According to Microsoft business division president Stephen Elop, “With more than 200 million smartphone customers globally, Nokia is the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer and a natural partner for us. […] Today’s announcement will enable us to expand Microsoft Office Mobile to Nokia smartphone owners worldwide and allow them to collaborate on Office documents from anywhere, as part of our strategy to provide the best productivity experience across the PC, phone and browser.”

I have to admit I have grown quite fond of my QuickOffice application (the Office replacement on most Nokia phones) but should the new Microsoft Office suite be close to the one that you're probably using on your PC, I think I might get used to having it around. It seems that the Office suite will be compatible with most Nokia phones and has been developed with the Nokia Eseries business smartphones in mind. My E75 is tingling with joy! Oh, no, wait... that was just a message.

Ending the article with something from Nokia Executive vice President Kai Oistamo, “If you are going to provide a seamless and integrated productivity experience on a mobile device, Microsoft is an ideal partner. […] Together with Microsoft, we will develop new and innovative user experiences for employees of small and large businesses alike, ensuring Nokia’s smartphones are an integral part of the office and home-office environment, and addressing the significant opportunity in mobile enterprise productivity.”

First Intel, now Microsoft, let it be NVIDIA Tegra next! Pretty please?
