Over the recent couple of weeks, Nokia has been rather silent, but this was probably because the Finnish company was getting ready for today's announcement, one quite a lot of users have been eagerly waiting for. Hence, without further ado, we'll just say that Nokia has finally taken wraps off its E52 model, a device that delivers an absolutely impressive battery life, plus numerous other communication-related features on the side.
Without a doubt, the amazing battery power it provides will most likely represent the main selling point of these latest E-series models. Hence, the handheld will allow users to talk for up to eight hours straight, but what really takes the cake here is the stand-by time, which, according to Nokia, is in excess of 23 days.
Beside the battery, the new E52 incorporates pretty much all of the features the E-series phones have become famous for, such as A-GPS, high-speed HSDPA and HSUPA connections, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. Moreover, in order to help IT departments integrate the E52 faster into their phone “fleets,” the handheld also packs Mobile VPN technology with Call Connect support, which enables businesses to integrate Nokia mobile devices with corporate phone systems, making users contactable through a single number, have a single voicemail box and offer least-cost call routing.
Since this is, after all, a smartphone targeting mostly business users, the device offers support for Nokia Messaging, Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveller, which makes it easier for users to access their e-mail accounts right from the E52's interface.
The Nokia E52 will ship with a 1GB microSD card and a free 60 day trial for Files on Ovi. It’ll be available in two colors, metal grey and golden aluminium that will help show off the 2.4-inch display (which also has automatic landscape support).
According to Nokia, we should expect its E52 handheld to arrive in stores towards the second half of 2009, when it retails for somewhere in the vicinity of 245 Euro, which, let's face it, is a fairly average price point for such a feature-packed smartphone.
