Nokia is releasing a new candybar touch phone on American soil, but only in Chicago and New York Nokia flagship stores. This is good news for Nokia fans, because although online retailers haven't yet gotten the handheld in their stocks, the only possibility available for them right now is to get it from the maker’s website, which doesn't send the gadget to buyers until the end of next month.
The
X6 16 GB version offers different coloring options, meaning a yellow and pink border on the front, besides the
traditional black, but does not have Nokia's Comes With Music service, like the 32 Gb version.
Luckily, it features Ovi Maps and other Ovi typical apps that you can comfortably run on the phone's 3.2-inch touchscreen, which will also play movies at the 16:9 aspect ratio. As its name says, it will be capable of storing up to 16 GB on its internal memory and its price is under that of the N97 and N97 mini.
The gadget still snaps pictures via a 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and can connect to a PC with the help of the micro USB port. The camera features a Dual-Flash; unfortunately, it is LED-based, which means the quality of the pictures assured by the lens will suffer from the lack of lighting when taking pics in darker places.
One can listen to music on the Nokia X6 16 GB through their favorite headphones, as it offers a 3.5 mm universal jack. This 80% recyclable device is an internet-friendly phone that will keep you connected to the most popular social networks at wireless or 3G speeds. It has an integrated A-GPS system and even TV out. Only PAL, it's true, but it's still a solution if you’re not willing to watch something on the
screen of the phone.
Another possible purchasing option for X6 fans is the Amazon website, which is selling it at $401.99, but currently has it out of stock.
