When asked whether you would ever want to go back to school, probably most of you would say yes. I bet you would give an affirmative answer thinking of the fun and carefree period and not at all because you would want to actually learn something that you didn't back then. Let me give you one educational reason to want to return to school. The Noteput interactive music table, which can teach you how to read music in the simplest of ways.

This is only a prototype and it is designed to change the way children learn to read music. It is activated by putting the treble clef on the table and after that, adding different notes that you can hear playing.

It offers a very interactive and fun way to learn and can be used in two different ways. One is the standard mode, a more fun and playful manner of using the Noteput; the other is the exercise mode, which has different tutorials and exercises that you have to complete on different difficulty levels.

The music playing on this interactive table is done (as you will also see in the movie) by placing wooden notes that have an electronic connection to the table. It comes with all basic clefs, note values and accidentals.

Each whole, half, quarter and eighth has a different form factor or weight, making it really easy for kids to remember and understand music. The long notes are the heaviest. No matter how many notes you add after the treble clef, you will be able to hit the play button at any time so that you can listen to the music you have composed so far.

Jonas Friedemann Heuer has built this concept table based on the principle that if a learning experience involves more senses, it will be made easier. This prototype has piano, guitar, flute, vibraphone or e-piano effects and users will be able to switch between them while composing music so that they can easily relate to the music that each instrument produces. Enjoy the movie below and see for yourselves.
