If you're a fan of AMD's products you're probably thinking of replacing absolutely every component in your computer with something specifically made to work with AMD processors or graphics cards. And most likely you've had a hard time finding
DDR3 memory that fully takes advantage of specific AMD technology incorporated in their recent devices. Well OCZ have announced that they are releasing the Low-Voltage AMD Black Edition
Memory, featuring “AMD Overdrive” performance.
“OCZ is excited to launch our new AMD Black Edition Ready Series which is designed specifically to work with AMD’s OverDrive software utility,” said Eugene Chang, vice president of product management at the OCZ Technology Group. “The new OCZ Black Edition modules not only interact with AOD to overclock the memory, but also communicate with the BIOS to increase the frequency and performance of the memory controller. The result is a symbiotic relationship between memory and the rest of the system to unleash the full power of the Dragon Platform.”
The Black Edition 4GB kits, when outfitted on 790FX and 790GX motherboards, can offer increased performance thanks to AMD's OverDrive feature, or AOD for short, thus eliminating the need to overclock your system manually. Running at a speed of 1600MHz and operating at 1.65V, you definitely won't be seeing the tortoise outrun this rabbit! Pricing is of course unspecified; however, if you can afford an AMD Black Edition CPU and a qualified motherboard to run it, you will afford the memory kits.
If you got a craving for overclocking and a need for speed but also care about your pocket and system security then there's nothing better than getting the entire AMD Black Edition kit. Sure it will take a lot of money from your pocket but it will be well worth it!
