Thanks to the two companies you can see in the title, we now have a speaker that emits light, wait, a large LED light bulb that plays music. Well, I'm
confused, what is the MusicLites and why is it spelled that way? Now, I see that there is even wireless technology involved, really confusing.
To some, but you understood right from the start that MusicLites, which fits any light fixtures of today, is a speaker built in a bulb illuminating with modern LED technology. The wireless is for connecting to a variety of audio sources, in order to play music from them. The time when you will be confused, however, is when the music will be coming from above you, which might be a pretty rave experience.
The concept of music and light
in one device was invented and patented in 1999 by Cary Christie, president and CEO of ARTISON. "MusicLites is the most revolutionary product that I have developed in my 40 years in the consumer electronics industry. With our combination of light and sound, anyone can now enjoy functionality and luxury in one package," commented Christie. "I am enthusiastic about the synergy of our companies working together and I am happy to see MusicLites become a reality."
The OSRAM Sylvania and ARISTON team effort resulted in the 65 W powerful
LED light that can be fitted into four, five or six-inch recessed cans. It works with the common 2.4 Ghz wireless technology. Each MusicLite unit consists of two 3.8 x 5.3 inch modules and they even have their own remote for controlling both lights and music. Don't rush onto their website just yet, hippies, because MusicLites will not be available until fall 2010.
"We are excited to provide users with the ultimate experience in lighting and sound, made possible through our partnership with ARTISON," stated Rick Leaman, president and CEO of OSRAM SYLVANIA. "With the ease of screwing in a light bulb, consumers and businesses can experience a quality, custom sound system and the most energy-efficient lighting technology."
