Not that much time has passed since the Graph Expo show opened its doors in Chicago, but printer announcements keep coming one after the other, Oce being particularly busy since they introed another new offerings targeted towards graphic arts print professionals this time, dubbed the ColorWave 600.
This announcement follows the
Arizona 550 GT large format printer that we have just recently presented, although this somewhat smaller printer is designed to produce short-run posters and signage quickly and inexpensively.
This means the new ColorWave printer is capable of producing over 600 square feet per hour of instant-dry poster output right on plain paper, so there is no need for more expensive coated media, enabling users to print short-run, disposable indoor and outdoor posters without the added cost associated with special printing supplies.
Adding to the feature list is also support for up to six media rolls, from 11 to 42 inches wide and up to 650 feet long, 1200dpi printing resolution, Oce also stating that a A0 page can be printed in about 31 seconds so this should be extremely fast.
Since this is a
professional grade printer, the ColorWave 600 supports a large number of operating systems, including OSX and Citrix Mainframe while also coming with
1GB Ethernet connectivity, for easier deployment.
Unfortunately, once again, Oce didn't provide us with a price for this printer so we can't share this info with you.
